Banana Fiber Ottoman

We love excitement, and thought that these pieces brought it!  Many of our finds have yet to be presented, but we wanted to share with you some of our undeveloped potential.

To the left you can see a few of the great products we are circulating through to establish the perfect collection to present to you.  Each item has its own unique characteristics, that are sure to be an eye pleasing moment for your decor.

The ottoman, made of banana fibers is a great conversation piece for any room, and adds its own level of contrast.  Originally this piece came from IKEA, but has now fell prey to our Decor Hunt at a price that will be unmatched.

The vintage “Shawnee 1402″ green bud vase is from the Elegance Collection, and is an antique from the Art Deco Era, known more for its abstract designs and curvilinear lines.  this vase has its unique characteristics with individual dark green lines from  bottom to top.  It stands 10 3/4″ tall and is flawless with its glossy glaze.

Now the plate, we have found this piece to be extremely unique.  We almost considered it an ashtray, but after further investigation discovered it is a mid-century piece from Wade Pottery, established in Southern California.  The characteristics of the glazing are striking with bold oranges, browns, yellows, reds, and greens swirling to the center of the dish.  We have found that this piece is quite rare in our searches through the colors it displays.  Other dishes from Wade, just did not compare, nor did the price.

With full permission granted by our client, we would like to share with you the Decor Hunt details.  The clients original message is as follows…

“These are the blues I meant… FYI in case you see anything.  Just any kind of serving or party food trays.  We serve a lot of food at once when we do parties.  My serving dishes now don’t look very good.”

As you can see, this presented a slight challenge; however, with a little bit of creativity, and ingenuity, we were able to locate the right items and please the client with our selections.

Bamboo - Ceramic Table Set

You can see here to the left we were able to find these great serving plates, perfect for your seafood, other garnishments, and/or even a candle lit center piece.  The blue plates include all the colors of the pillow with a rustic rim that fades from dark brown to tan.  The table runner was a perfect fit for this layout, leaving plenty of room on either side for more serving dishes.  This was a tough find, but again, with a little ingenuity it all came together in the end.

Now we still had to tackle the objective, our client serves a lot of food.  These three small plates are not fit for any large party, and we don’t want to disappoint our client.  So we continued to hunt for a more practical serving platter, that would flow with our inspiring pieces

After a little searching we were able to locate the final two pieces that would conclude this Decor Hunt.

These two serving platters fell prey to our hunt, to finalize the garnishment platters.  With both of these placed on either side of our ceramic plate selection, we are able to fulfill our clients needs for a setting that is sure to feed any size crowd as well be appealing to the eye.  Perfect for your veggies and dips, these two serving platters will be sure not to hold up the line.

This is how it works…

We were able to present to you about a week ago our Asian Orange set of decor, that was assembled through

our first Decor Hunt.  As you can see to the right, very simple.  This set originally included the five items shown.  Now, our goal is to continue to Hunt for additional accessories that match this set and provide influence to show off its full potential of a complete decor set.  We will enjoy sharing ideas and suggestions along the way of each of our decor sets growth.  Of course, we would not want to bombard you with emails, and updates of each set as they are assembled, but will have a page listed at DecorHunt.com for each of our designs, and their progression as it builds from week to week, with our new finds.   We will have available on the website a “Buy Now” button available for anyone that may be interested in any individual set.  Please note, only one set is available of each decor, unless otherwise noted.  This set originally, as seen above, is listed at $20, with free shipping.

Adding a few items here and there really can influence a design and change the characteristics of the

decor, even so with the layout seen here.  We are starting to create height, and depth in the image with this very small expansion.  This is just by adding two items, the picture frame, and clear glass vase.  Just imagine if we had placement with furniture, and plants to break up the coloring and bring the set to life.  However, we plan to introduce at this time small pieces of furniture, and larger pieces when our growth really starts to catch on.  As for now, we are focusing our energy on smaller pieces that are transportable, and that we can easily store in a small warehouse.  As new items are introduced some items may diminish, and appear in other design sets.  This all depends on the growth of the design, and what items are available through the Decor Hunts.  With the additional two items here, we have an asking price of $27.00, with free shipping for the entire set of seven.  As you can imagine, the larger the set the more the price increases, naturally.

We are happy to ship anywhere within the United States, and will note if there is an additional charge for shipping.  Our goal is not to over charge but cover any operating costs and time finding these selections of items.  Items may have minor imperfections, which we have found ways to work with, and will fully disclose all this information with the buyer, before they purchase.  Please note, these are second hand, thrift, consignment, hand-me-downs, that we are re-working to create an affordable “green-like” environment that shows off your individual characteristics.

High Fashion is here!  Is it a fashion burst or bust?

Over the top fashion collection, perfect ensemble for the inner diva!  The umbrella holder is a nice accessory to your foyer, and the lamp creates the perfect brightness for those last minute finishing touches, that girls are infamous for.  It also would not be a bad touch to a girls best friend… her walk in closet.  Pull up a chair and see what we can add to this set to make it perfect for your place!

Fashion Set

The Umbrella holder was the first item I came across, and just thought it was so fun and flirty!  It was truly a riot watching me walk around holding this piece in the store… received a few different looks.    (Only if I could have been that fly on the wall).

1950s Marble & Glass Set

This next set are antiques, and I have not decided to take them down to the dealer yet; however, wouldn’t mind finding a few more items to mix in with them, before doing so to get the best deal.  I really enjoy these types of items, and find them very often.  I actually have items similar mixed into my 50s-70s decor, and find them to be very enlightening.

Both pieces are in great working order.  The alarm clock is electric, and is encased in a marble rectangle, perfect for a dresser, buffet, or desk.  The lamp is great as well, and fits anywhere on a raised surface without taking away from visual space.

I want to take a step back here.  I have a collection of accessories that I am keeping around for when that perfect set does come my way.  As you can see through the next image I have placed some interesting items.  Rest assured, I have many more where these came from.  Please note, items tend to move from one design to another as you develop.  Some of the best designs take time; especially, when you are hunting through consignment, thrift, and estates for products.  These next items I like to call my fillers.. and in a way, inspiration.  They give me great color choices, and options to work with.  It’s always good to have a few extra items lying around to change things up.  I always like to put together a little something that everyone gathers around, and asks, “What made you come up with this?”  But remember nothing is ever stuck in one place.

I really find that my hunts are limitless, as long as my imagination continues to flow.

After much searching and puddle splashing over the weekend, I was able to locate a numerous amount of products, all listed under budget.  I found items at unbelievable prices, and now I get the joy of sharing those items with you, after I have compiled and strategically grouped items together alike.

First, I must apologize for the image quality, I did the very best for what I have to work with.  Thankfully I have wonderful friends and bosses who allow me to explore my creative side, but a camera that displays my handicaps.

You can see on the right, that I found this beautiful yellow hand carved candle holder, and a set of four clear glass napkin rings with a hand painted butterfly on each.  There is a marking of Ela on each clear glass napkin ring, I am assuming the Designer.  This is a great collection for a small outside patio, or breakfast nook.  I would enjoy piecing together an entire set of dishes with napkins, and find that very possible; however, as it stands this set has a starting price of $12.00, with free shipping.  I am planning on building the set with more items as I come across them, but if you wish to have it as is, feel free to contact me immediately.

appeal to them.  You can see with the next image, my Travel Set that I was able to assemble has an old world feel to it.  This set is great, the book, called “Travels” is a blank slate that will allow its owner to fill in the information of their journeys around the world.  It creates a nice conversation piece that displays comfortably out in the open.

The picture of Big Ben, 10″ X 16″ is a great accent to any travelers collection.  It could easily be illuminated with the 11-1/2″ candle holder shade.  Adding plants to the pot and colorful pens to the small vase will create a functional collection that can be elegantly displayed.

Dayz” Decor Hunt.  I know many of you enjoy a little Chinese influence throughout your decor; however, many times I find that Chinese decor is limited to black red and silver.  Honestly, I feel it lacks true potential of it’s character.

As you can see this next set of decorations is a nice mixture of earthy tones, and materials.  The 11″ high vase is wrapped with a natural rattan, and is hand painted.  Bamboo, of course, would be a great accent for this vase.  The small plaques measure 5-1/2″ square, and have a nice blend of creams and tans with Chinese Scripts.  The large picture measures 9″ square, with the tranquility script displayed center.  The box, Pier 1, is large enough to store a numerous amount of items and measures 10″w X 6″d X 7″h.

I was sitting around the house listening to the rain ping against my tin roof, feeling empty inside.  I looked around, and felt blank – nothing was bringing me excitement.   I could only feel the misery the rain brought and how that dampened my day of the pool side, and suns rays.

I realized, I needed a change.  So I grabbed my piggy bank, and hit the roads of the high sea.  As the wipers blared across my windshield, I wondered what I could possibly find with my limited budget. I haven’t decided what I was looking for, but when I see it I will know.  My first stops were some of my favorite local shops…

The shops I choose are not your typical household furnishing stores.  I choose second hand.  I feel it adds a touch of character, and enjoy the challenge of the hunt to bring these items together.  As well, many of my purchases help with local charities.  This gives me a sense of accomplishment, when the entire picture is done being assembled and painted.  Then when the rain comes it can easily be wiped away, to create a new scenery without breaking the bank.
